The The Influence of Discovery Learning Model Based on Visual Media on The Ability to Understand The Relation and Functions Subject for Students in VIII Grade

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of discovery learning model based on visual media on the ability to understand the relation and function subject for students in VIII grade MTs Nurul Islam Sekarbela academic year 2019/2020. This research was quasi experimental with posttest only control group design. The population in this research was all student in VIII grade of MTs Nurul Islam Sekarbela academic year 2019/2020. Sampling technique in this research was cluster random sampling, students VIII D as experiment class and students VIII C as control class. The instrument used was written test of the ability to understand the relation and function subject. The observed data were analyzed with t test to determined differences in the ability to understand in experimental and the control class, and the size effect test to determined the influence/contribution of the learning model. The result of research that the students average score in using discovery learning model based on visual media was 73.83 and 54.81 for students in using conventional model. Based on the results of data analysis it was known that discovery learning model based on visual media was a significant influence with the  influence of high category that 84% of the ability to understand the relation and function subject for students in VIII grade MTs Nurul Islam Sekarbela academic year 2019/2020.
